Sayali Gaikwad is 5 years old and attends one of the day centers run by our partners in India. Sayali and her one-year old baby brother live with both parents. Her father is an auto rickshaw driver. Her mother works as a maid, cleaning houses and washing clothes and utensils for residents in nearby high rise apartments. She leaves the baby with a neighbor for few hours when she goes to work. Sayali goes to the day center when mother is working. Sayali is very happy when she comes to the day center where she is not alone. She enjoys getting time to learn with other children and she also gets to eat a healthy meal. She is a regular student and is eager to learn more from her teachers. She likes to learn songs and group dances.
