Princess Hakoola is four years old and currently enrolled in the Baby Class at Pure Nard Preschool in Zambia. She is the sixth child in her family. She has three sisters and two brothers. Her eldest sister, Stella, graduated from high school last year. Her sister Christabel is in tenth grade and her other sister, Martha, is in second grade. Her brothers, Alex and Clatty, are also continuing their education in the tenth and seventh grades. Princess’ father left the family to marry another woman, leaving her mother, Michelo, to raise the children alone. To support her family, Michelo sells vegetables by the roadside near her home. Despite the challenges she faces, Michelo is determined to ensure that all of her children receive a quality education. Princess wants to be a doctor when she grows up. At home, she enjoys making clay dolls and pretending to be a doctor, caring for her sick doll patients.
