Brivia Muleya is eight years old and is currently in Grade 1 at Pure Nard Primary School in Zambia. As the second-born child in her family, she follows in the footsteps of her older brother, Blessing, who is in second grade at Mungu Primary School. Her younger sister, Bridget, is in Baby Class at Pure Nard Preschool. Brivia’s parents divorced a few year back. Her biological father, Maybin, currently lives in Kalomo, a town in the Southern part of Zambia. Brivia lives with her mother, Arrent Chibabu, and stepfather, Matthews Mboozi. Matthews works as a farmhand on a small farm, cultivating a variety of vegetables that are sold at the local market on Mondays and Fridays. Arrent also contributes to the family’s livelihood by assisting with farm work. Despite their modest circumstances, Brivia’s parents are committed to providing their children with a quality education. They ensure that Brivia and her siblings attend school regularly, recognizing the importance of education for their future. Brivia is a quiet but diligent student with a passion for books. She often spends her time immersed in reading from the classroom library and aspires to become a teacher when she grows up.
