Ananya is four years old and is her parent's only child. Her father works as a scavenger and her mother works as a rag picker. Ananya comes regularly to the day center run by our partners in India. She sits and tries to learn from the teacher and also tries to draw and write. She always takes her meal from the center back home with her and tells the teacher that she will eat during her lunch time since her mother doesn’t cook in the morning. Her parents come home in the evening, so her neighbor looks after her until they return.
