Chandani is 14 years old and lives in the slums near one of the day centers run by our partners in India. She lives with her father, mother, younger sister Sureka, and two younger brothers, Sai and Ganesh. Her older sister Raani, along with her husband and daughter, live next door to them as well. Their daily routine involves early morning trips to the local dump where they gather recyclable materials (like plastic bottles and metal items) to sell in order to make a living. Despite their challenging circumstances, Chandani attends the day center run by our partners in India to pursue her education. Her commitment to her studies is remarkable. She wholeheartedly participates in all the activities at the center and grasps all that she is taught. She is very active and happy girl.
