Meeting the Basic Nutritional Needs of the Children We Serve
Part of the mission of Serve the Children is to meet the physical needs of underserved children in our world. STC plays a vital role supporting the food programs in conjunction with our partners in the countries we serve. We strive to ensure that not only sponsored children, but all of the children coming into the schools and education centers we partner with, are fed a nutritious meal with protein. We know that in order for our children to focus, learn and get emotionally healthy, they have to be able to hear more than their belly. So, serving healthy daily meals at our education centers is a priority for us.
This year our Giving Tuesday goal is to raise $4,000 to build our meal fund. These funds will go directly toward feeding the children that we work with in Liberia, India and Zambia. The children in our programs can eat a nutritious meal at our schools and centers for an average of $0.40 a day. For some, this would be the only meal they would eat that day. Reaching our goal of $4,000 would provide 10,000 meals for some of the world's neediest children.
Our partners in Zambia have felt particular strain on their food program this year due to an extended season of drought. Because of your generosity, we were able to send food relief to them earlier this fall.
"We remain grateful for the timely donation of rice from Kids Around the World, which has greatly eased the financial burden of our feeding program for our students. This nutritious rice was especially valuable in the context of the drought that occurred during the 2023-2024 agricultural season, resulting in food shortages for many Zambian households, especially in rural communities that rely heavily on maize cultivation for their livelihoods." - Wafuka Kapolesa (STC Zambia Country Director)

Matthew 25:35-40
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
